Oud, and nothing standing between you and it
Most oud sold in this region passes through four or five hands before it reaches a shelf. Ours passes through one. We buy the wood, we distil the oil, we grade it, we blend it, and we seal the box. That is the whole business, and everything below is a consequence of it.
Where we started
Real Oud Factory began the way most oud houses in the Gulf begin, with one person who could not leave the subject alone. Mr Ahmed Awad started with a small room, a set of scales and a reputation that travelled by word of mouth faster than any shopfront could have carried it. Customers came back because the grade they bought in January smelled the same in June. That is a harder promise to keep than it sounds, and keeping it is the only reason the company grew.
Today that small room is a working factory in International City, Dubai, with a second home in the Sultanate of Oman and customers across the Gulf.
How we work
We select at source. Our buyers handle the wood themselves rather than taking a grade on paper, because origin, age and resin content are things you confirm with your hands and your nose.
We distil slowly. Fast distillation is cheaper and gives you more oil. It also gives you a thinner, sharper scent that falls off the skin in two hours. We take the slower route and accept the smaller yield.
We grade by batch. Every distillation is logged and graded before it is bottled, so the batch number on your bottle can be traced back to the wood it came from. If you ever want that trace, send us the number on WhatsApp.
We fill by hand. Every bottle, every box, every seal.
What we make
Raw agarwood by the tola and the gram. Pure dehn al oud. Oud muattar and VIP muattar for the burner. Dukhoon, mabthooth and makhmariya. House mukhaltat blends. Musk, rose and amber accords. Spray perfumes, body and hair mists, air fresheners, and oud bracelets turned from the same wood we distil.
More than 200 products, and every one of them traceable to a batch in our own facility.
